Events

The Westchester Book Festival will take place on Saturday, November 8th, 2025 in Katonah, NY.

There are several different events planned throughout the day.

  • Tickets are needed for the events at the Katonah Village Library and the Galleries.
    Tickets for seating at the Katonah Village Library main session space are sold out,
    BUT you can still experience the Book Festival right across the hall:
    - Get a
    Live Feed Ticket for just $10 and join the excitement across the hall
    - Watch the event live-streamed in real time
    - Get exclusive access to the Author Book Signing afterward
    - Limited spillover tickets available, so get tickets before they’re gone!

  • The Authors’ Corner will be at The Katonah Reading Room, with authors to meet and greet throughout the day; no tickets needed.

  • Books will be on sale on site at the Katonah Village Library and at the Katonah Reading Room (19 Edgemont Road, Katonah).

  • Many Partners have great events happening throughout the day of the Festival — plan your day here.

  • Free parking is available all day in two commuter parking lots: Lot #1 here and Lot #3 here.

Books will be available onsite via the Katonah Reading Room or can be purchased from your local bookseller.

Authors’ Corner

You can meet Westchester’s local authors at the Katonah Reading Room throughout the day, from 9:30am-4pm.

  • Make a visit to the Katonah Reading Room a priority on November 8th during the Westchester Book Festival! The Reading Room is a quaint bookstore and coffee shop on the north side of town that will be hosting authors for book signings and meet and greet sessions all day long.

  • Guest writers span many genres and include all of our local favorites. Featured authors are: Lauren Acampora, Heather Clark, Fiona Davis, Carolyn Ferrell, Daisy Florin, Ali Flynn, Jenna Gavigan, Kelsie Sheridan Gonzalez, Jimin Han, Sam Hollander, Daniel Isenberg, Ann Leary, Lynda Cohen Loigman, Lauren Schwarzfeld, Maria Scrivan, Rachel Simon, Katie Sise, Dan Slepian, and Greg Wands.

1:00pm, The Ins and Outtakes of Making an Audiobook, with Robert Kessler and Dan Bittner
Location: Chroma Fine Art Gallery, 194 Katonah Avenue, Katonah, NY

Have you ever wondered how that audiobook you’re listening to actually gets made? Or perhaps you are wondering how to get into the business? Bringing together a veteran audiobook producer/director and veteran audiobook narrator will explain the many ins and outs involved.

Topics of discussion will include: casting, director and talent preparation, the studio recording process, and how the final product is post produced.

Producer/Director Robert Kessler has been involved with audiobooks for 40 years and has won numerous awards including a Grammy for Still Me written and read by Christopher Reeve. He has been fortunate to have worked with many of the great authors, actors, business leaders and politicians of our time.

Dan Bittner is an Audie award-winning narrator of multiple genres from Non-Fiction to Sci-Fi. He has received numerous AudioFile Earphones awards and an Odyssey award in 2019 and 2021. Dan can also be seen in films such as The Wolf of Wall Street, The Post and Brittany Runs a Marathon. He has recurring roles on HBO's The Leftovers and Evil.

How do those treasured children’s books you and your kids love end up in your hands? Or maybe you want to know how to get into children’s publishing? With 24 years at Simon & Schuster and currently VP and Creative Director of the Children’s Division, Dan Potash knows how and will explain what’s involved from concept to creation - and all the stuff behind the scene.

Dan Potash oversees the design of over 750 books annually with a staff of 34 designers and art directors across 8 imprints. In the 24 years that Dan has been with Simon & Schuster he has worked with numerous best-selling, award winning illustrators and authors, including Judy Blume, Hilary Knight, The Lennon-McCartney Estate/Sony Music, Doreen Cronin, Betsy Lewin, Jason Reynolds, Loren Long, Cynthia Rylant, Carter Goodrich, and John Lithgow to name just a few.
